Patch glossary

PATCH replaces the complete tree. Use the actual updatedAt from your last read as expectedUpdatedAt (the timestamp below is illustrative). If the API returns 409, re-read the glossary and reconcile your changes before retrying.

Glossary fields

Field	Type	Required	Description
name	string	Yes	Glossary display name, up to 120 characters.
expectedUpdatedAt	string (date-time)	No	Required for PATCH only. Copy updatedAt from the latest GET or list response. A stale revision returns 409 without saving.
sourceLanguageTag	string	No	Optional source language tag for this glossary.
targetLanguageTag	string	No	Optional target language tag for this glossary.
caseSensitive	boolean	No	Default case sensitivity for matching entries.
groups[]	array	Yes	Nested groups of enabled or disabled items. Maximum 5 levels, 100 groups, and 1,000 items across the whole glossary.
groups[].name	string	Yes	Group name, up to 120 characters.
groups[].enabled	boolean	No	Whether the group contributes entries by default.
groups[].items[]	array	No	Mapping or do-not-translate items in this group.
items[].type	mapping \| do_not_translate	Yes	Item behavior.
items[].source	string	No	Source term for mapping items.
items[].target	string	No	Target term for mapping items.
items[].value	string	No	Value for do_not_translate items.
items[].enabled	boolean	No	Whether the item can be selected or applied by default.

Translate selector fields

Field	Type	Required	Description
glossary_id	string	Yes	Stored glossary to apply. A translation item can reference one stored glossary at a time.
glossary_version_id	string	No	Immutable snapshot to pin for that same stored glossary. Useful for async jobs and reproducible workflows.
glossary_group_ids	string[]	No	Enabled groups to include from that stored glossary. Narrows default selection.
glossary_item_ids	string[]	No	Enabled items to include from that stored glossary. Combined with selected groups as a union.

Behavior

Selector fields narrow one stored glossary. They do not merge multiple stored glossaries together.
Every create, update, and delete operation writes an immutable version snapshot. Asynchronous batch jobs pin stored glossary requests to a version at creation time so later glossary edits do not change queued work.
Sync translation routes can use stored glossaries through API key auth, but glossary CRUD itself is a session-only management surface.
